Sutter Health Sterile Processing Technician II in San Francisco, California

Position Overview:
Performs a variety of tasks related to the preparation of instruments and equipment for procedures and surgeries. Operates sterilizing and decontamination units using different agents, which may include steam, hydrogen peroxide, paracetic acid, ethylene oxide, and glutaraldehyde. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, instrument processing, distribution, inventory, equipment and record keeping functions under general guidance.

EDUCATION
- HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
CRCST-Certified Registered Central Service Technician
Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Tech
EXPERIENCE
- Two years experience in Sterile Processing Department. Additionally, the applicant must demonstrate the ability to be a resource to Sterile Processing Tech I staff by effectively training new employees, answering questions appropriately, providing accurate and complete information regarding departmental procedures and demonstrating good communication skills.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Elementary computer procedures as they apply to equipment, supply tracking, ordering and preference / pick list generation; knowledge of basic inventory control concepts and PAR level systems; knowledge of medical terminology, surgical instrumentation, supplies, equipment.
Must be able to read, write and speak English, communicate and work effectively with hospital employees, sales representatives; internal and external customers, perform simple mathematical functions and handle a large volume of detailed work accurately.

Pay Range is $34.85 to $36.86 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
