We’re looking for a Senior Communications Manager with experience and interest in telling B2B stories to join our Global Communications team. This individual will lead product communications in North America focused on LinkedIn’s digital advertising business and will focus on driving earned media to help our customers understand the value we’re delivering with our advertising products.

In this role, you will work with cross-functional partners across product, marketing, engineering, sales and legal to help our customers love and understand LinkedIn’s advertising solutions. You will be responsible for driving a steady cadence of proactive communications strategies to drive product awareness for the business, while also managing reactive external communications. Strong media relations, writing, project management and organizational skills are required with deep experience in driving earned and owned media results.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead product communications in North America for our digital advertising business

  • Manage ongoing cadence of media conversations with product stories always in the pipeline

  • Drive strategic and tactical communications plans corresponding with the launch of product news

  • Strategically pitch stories and gain earned coverage tied to our advertising solutions and the value they are providing our customers

  • Lead proactive and reactive product storytelling and narrative building in North America

  • Lead product issues and change management across our digital advertising business

  • Remain current on ad tech industry trends, including competitive product news, to keep the our digital advertising business leaders informed about topics driving conversations with external audiences

  • Partner with the Global Communications Team to execute on product launches

  • Build relationships with your LinkedIn Global Communications Team counterparts to identify opportunities to weave product narratives and customer value into larger LinkedIn narratives

  • Write and/or edit content, including, but not limited to articles, LinkedIn platform posts, bylines, etc.

  • Help to connect the dots across lines of business to identify opportunities to collaborate on larger LinkedIn stories to drive a #OneLinkedIn approach to marketing and communications

  • Balance both the priorities for the digital advertising business with the extended communications teams’ priorities to ensure alignment

  • Continuously consider how your priorities are supporting the sales organization as they work to open new doors and build and maintain existing relationships

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in external communications – with a focus on media relations

  • BA/ BS Degree or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience working on product communications, ideally for advertising, ad tech, or media

  • Strong results in dynamic, high-growth, fast paced environment with proven track record of delivering on projects with tight deadlines and cross-functional dependencies

  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to critically think about how to position a story and weave in multiple messages to maximize opportunities

  • Ideal candidate has experience managing issues that may impact reputation

  • Experience developing scripts and video content for executive voices

  • Organizational skills and an innate ability to stay on top of multiple projects at once

  • Experience working across cross-functional teams towards a common goal or initiative

  • Strong understanding of external communications and implementation process

  • Strong media relations experience

  • Must have very strong project management and decision-making skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships at all levels

  • Possess a high degree of integrity and sense of confidentiality

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

The pay range for this role is $141,000 - $221,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
