The SF Fed Financial Management Group is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Strategic Finance Business Partner team. Reporting to the Manager of Financial Planning, this position will support assigned business groups and focus on understanding the business strategy and providing relevant insight into business performance. The position will also leverage financial metrics and trends to provide financial leadership and align financial strategies, to support business groups in determining strategic business direction.

In this role you will:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on all financial planning disciplines.

  • Understand detailed business strategy and provide highly relevant insight into business performance, ensuring alignment with financial plans.

  • Apply data analytics and key performance metrics to provide insight into trends and potential risks/opportunities.

  • Provide Bank management with financial analyses for timely and effective decision making. Identify metrics and trends in financial performance and provide recommendations for overall function improvement to management ensuring budget discipline and realistic resource capacity.

  • Support and consult business areas during project planning phase and monitor project progress and funding needs throughout the life cycle of the project.

  • Support efforts to define long-term planning for business areas and the development of action plans and financial forecasts to meet short and long-term financial goals.

  • Serve as the knowledge source for one or more financial focus areas with a solid understanding of Federal Reserve accounting, expense and capital budgeting, cost accounting policies, contracts and agreements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field

  • Typically 5+ years of related experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office and financial applications

  • Proficiency in financial analysis and reporting, financial planning, modeling and development

  • Advanced experience in creating PowerPoint presentations for management

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of employees and leaders internally and externally to the organization

  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources

  • Excellent customer service skills including the ability to provide consultative services to business areas on a variety of accounting and financial management issues

  • Ability to think creatively and be resourceful within the context of financial modeling, analytics, and strategic presentations

Base Salary Range: Min: $97,600 - Mid: $126,800 - Max: $155,900 (Location: San Francisco)

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
