The Launchpad team is a collection of entrepreneurial engineers that partners directly with both our VP Product & Design and our Cofounder to identify strategic new business opportunities and build innovative solutions for them.
About the Role
DoorDash is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial Android engineer to lead a confidential project. Over the past twelve months, the Launchpad team has found strong momentum with a suite of emerging Android-powered hardware products. This is a hands-on technical role that involves designing Android applications that must operate 24/7 regardless of network conditions, shipping new features at a breakneck pace, and collaborating cross-functionally across Product, Design, and Hardware teams.

Design technical Android solutions that must work on in-field hardware devices 24/7
Collaborate with Product Managers, Business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and vision, and manage execution against that roadmap

Encourage innovation, teamwork, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, and outside-of-the-box thinking
We’re excited about you because you have…
BS, M.S., or PhD. in Computer Science or related field
10+ years of industry experience
Experience leading technically complex embedded software projects and mentoring other engineers
Interest in tuning hardware, firmware, and software performance
Extensive experience as an engineer in a fast-paced, product-focused development environment
Extensive experience designing and scaling Android applications for performance and reliability
Experience shipping consumer electronics products

Compensation
The successful candidate's starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.
In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographical market up to our highest geographical market within California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Washington.
