Lyft Senior Manager, Operations Excellence in San Francisco, California

Lyft is looking for an energetic team-player, with a strong background in hardware and operations to join our Urban Solutions team supporting our bikes & scooters operations.

You love solving the toughest operations process problems alongside multiple stakeholder teams, both internal and external. You are detail oriented and a strong communicator. You are a strong people manager, and you can keep the team engaged and focused through execution. You are great with data. You are not afraid of getting into the details, but you can also manage senior level meetings. You are a strong leader of initiatives, and capable of driving the execution of cross-functional tasks and programs.

Responsibilities:

MANAGE

  • Manage a team of leads and associates that is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of our market and field operations, and performance of our product hardware, which includes:

  • Creating and maintaining bike and scooter maintenance and battery charging manuals

  • Performing quality audits on fleet inspection and repair, and enforcing compliance with operating partners

  • Manage hardware component retrofits, and influence the introduction of new hardware products

  • Support fleet health at new product and market launches

  • Responding to fleet critical tasks and emergent issues

  • Manage a team of leads responsible for developing market launch processes, and executing on launch of new products and new markets

  • Develop relevant operational excellence KPIs and manage team performance using these KPIs

  • Deliver senior leadership updates, and prepare business cases to support decision making

IMPROVE

  • Implement improved operational controls and enforcement on our Operating partners, ensuring market operations are executed safely and efficiently

  • Improvement of operational performance through driving standardization and optimization between all operated markets and partners.

PARTNER

  • Partner with Engineering to monitor hardware performance; retrofit fleets with new hardware to improve hardware lifecycle and reduce maintenance costs; execute on improved software tooling and alert systems

  • Partnering with Engineering, Operations, and external operators to maintain overall local market health.

  • Partner with Policy, Safety, Engineering, and Operations to manage and maintain ongoing safety compliance standards for battery charging and building codes

Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in operations leadership or consulting, ideally in an environment heavily dependent on front line workforces.

  • 3+ years leading a team of direct reports and individual contributors.

  • Excellent cross-functional collaborator and partner, you find win-wins for all parties.

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex problems, with communication skills to work with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Structured thinking and communication skills

  • Comfortable presenting to executive leadership

  • Ideal candidates will have some combination of the following attributes:

  • Experience in lean, six sigma, (or similar systems), including direct implementation experience.

  • Fluency in operational KPIs, including ability to determine root-cause drivers of positive and negative trends.

  • Hardware development or maintenance experience, including operations that involve technicians

  • Experience in transportation sector. Micromobility experience is a plus

  • Comfortable presenting to executive leadership

  • Ability to work with remote teams and across times zones

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $128,000-$160,000. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits.
