Aerotek Facilities Technician in San Francisco, California

Job Title: Facilities Technician

Job Description

  • Maintain a working knowledge of building systems and Facilities operations.

  • Act as the primary contact for any building issues (climate control, odors, smoke, spills, damage, emergencies, and repairs).

  • Create work orders on demand from phone, email, or verbal request, process, assign, and update daily work orders, and ensure proper communication to work order requester.

  • Perform maintenance of interior and exterior buildings including painting, minor construction, repairs, equipment, and furniture installation.

  • Actively monitor facility and equipment conditions and make recommendations for maintenance or improvement.

  • Maintain all building equipment, order supplies, tools, and keep an inventory.

  • Manage and maintain primary utilities’ systems such as HVAC system, elevators, and check and control water, gas, and electric systems.

  • Solicit bids and quotes from vendors, schedule repairs, and monitor contractor performance. Work closely with outside vendors and contractors to ensure work is completed according to specifications.

  • Assist supervisor in project coordination for all size projects including large-scale repair and new facility construction/renovation projects. Assist with maintaining building security and immediately respond to building emergencies on a 24/7 basis.

  • Perform repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves, and other devices as required.

  • Perform re-lamping, repairs, and/or replacement of electrical fixtures, devices, and appliances as required.

  • Perform carpentry work as required to repair windows, doors, hardware, screens, and furniture. Perform some installation and dismantle as well as mechanical equipment troubleshooting and repairs.

  • Troubleshoot and perform repair on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • Transport goods or equipment as required.

  • Order small tools and materials for work order completion.

  • Assist and maintain tools and materials inventory.

  • Assist and perform preventive maintenance program.

  • Assist and perform monthly, weekly, and daily facilities inspections. Provide written documentation to the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Assist with fire drills at all locations as needed.

  • Provide training to new employees and refresher training on an as-needed basis.

  • Follow OSHA regulations for all projects, equipment operation, and chemical usage including labeling, storage, disposal, and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Assist in conducting site inspections and complete checklists on a regular basis. Provide written documentation to the Maintenance Supervisor and Director.

  • Assist in overseeing overall building cleanliness and job performance of Technicians I & II.

  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor & Director.

Hard Skills

  • 3 years of experience in Plumbing

  • 3 years of experience in Electrical

  • Preventative maintenance checks

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in San Francisco, California.

Work Environment

Working with a team of multiple technicians.

The schedule includes working 5 hours during the day and covering the rest of the hours at night, Monday through Friday.
