The Salvation Army Facilities Maintenance Supervisor in San Francisco, California

OVERVIEW:

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Facilities Engineer Manager, serves as the on-duty supervisor for evening and weekend events at Kroc Center/Railton Place. Responsible for overseeing Kroc staff during events and conducting general maintenance duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise Kroc Janitor/Maintenance staff

  • Set up and manage AV equipment for Kroc Center/Railton Place events

  • Oversee General maintenance and cleaning of facilities

  • Venue setup, breakdown, and cleanup for special events

  • Daily monitoring of the facility, reporting issues, and maintaining a checklist of maintenance items

  • Ensure compactor functionality and garbage management

  • Respond to fire alarms, chemical spills, and hazardous materials incidents

  • Identify repairs and report to Facilities Engineer Manager for strategy and action steps

  • Maintain equipment, follow safety protocols, and be able to educate staff and guest base

  • Collaborate with vendors and contractors as needed and as directed by Facilities Engineer Manager

  • When needed, be able to train janitor staff in cleaning and deep cleaning efforts

  • Support major property projects and tasks around the center when needed

  • Other related duties as required

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)

  • Experience in Maintenance (2 years required)

  • Experience in Maintenance (5 years preferred)

  • 21 years of age (required)

  • CA Driver’s license (required)

  • Experience in plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall repair, and electrical work

  • Lift Truck Safety Course certificate

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Detail oriented

  • Team player

  • Great communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software

  • Relevant janitorial and maintenance equipment
