Meta Data Center Energy Analyst in San Francisco, California
Summary:
Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative services. Meta is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and self-motivated individual to perform advanced energy analytics, and produce scalable analytic tools for our growing fleet of data centers and clean energy portfolio. In this role, you will be a key contributor to Meta’s data center energy strategy and your responsibilities will include: tracking and forecasting data center energy usage and cost, performing sensitivity and scenario analyses, and monitoring US energy market trends. Additionally, you will help drive the development and deployment of Meta’s global energy strategy in an effort to create a cost competitive clean and renewable energy based supply portfolio that meets the company’s overall strategic objectives. You will be expected to become an expert on the energy rates and usage for Meta’s growing portfolio of data centers.
Required Skills:
Data Center Energy Analyst Responsibilities:
Serve as an expert on energy rates and usage for Meta’s growing portfolio of data centers
Create and maintain models to forecast energy usage and analyze electric rate impacts for current and future data center sites
Work with Energy Managers to analyze possible rate structures for new data center locations and new renewable energy projects
Build scalable analytical tools to streamline and simplify analytical tasks
Partner with the data science and engineering organization to automate tools and workstreams
Deliver monthly and annual summaries of key energy metrics to the Global Energy team and internal stakeholders
Engage with Infrastructure stakeholders to track data center design and capacity engineering trends to improve load forecasting methodologies and support energy efficiency efforts
Work with Net Zero team to provide data on Meta energy usage and renewable energy procurement
Work with utility and internal partners to ensure timely bill payment and resolve billing issues as needed
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, finance or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of relevant work experience using data analytics to answer energy and electricity market questions
Proven experience to apply quantitative methodologies to analyze the energy market risks and opportunities
Experience analyzing and interpreting energy usage data, electric tariffs, wholesale energy market data, and renewable energy data
Experience coding in MySQL, Python, C++ or other languages
Experience collaborating with data engineers and data scientists and building productive cross-functional relationships
Experience to manage multiple work streams concurrently and prioritize workflows

Public Compensation:
$126,000/year to $179,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
