Jeff Abrams at Robert Half is partnering with an exceptional company in search of an experienced and highly accomplished Controller to join its finance team. This role will be reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing and managing the financial affairs of the credit union to ensure its growth, safety, and soundness. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, creative, and financially savvy individual with vision and leadership characteristics necessary to ensure continued outstanding financial performance. This role requires strong management (3+ person team), critical thinking, communication, and execution skills. Additionally, demonstrated hands-on collaboration skills to produce desired results, and proactive strategic planning skills will be necessary.

Your responsibilities

  • Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation

  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

  • Review deliverables of self and team to align with client expectations

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and manage daily cash

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

  • Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

    Requirements

· 10+ years of accounting experience ideally within credit union, banking, or financial institution.

· A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

· Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting or CPA is preferred.

· ADP Workforce Now experience a must
