Clearway Energy Associate, Origination Marketing & Proposals in San Francisco, California

What The Role Is

The Associate, Origination Marketing & Proposals is an integral position on the Clearway Origination Team.

The Origination Team is made up of 15+ professionals leading the front end of Clearway’s renewable development business. We pride ourselves on establishing and maintaining relationships with customers and industry advisors, tracking and reporting pricing and product trends, collaborating with internal subject matter experts, and crafting competitive proposals to secure revenue agreements for each of Clearway’s projects.

The Associate, Origination Marketing & Proposals creates written proposals on Clearway’s solar, wind, and storage development projects, manages key project data as a central information owner within the team, creates and updates presentation materials, collaborates with Origination team members on developing power marketing strategies for specific projects, and tracks key market trends impacting our customers. Additionally, the Associate assists in monthly forecasting of customer agreements, financial data, and contract terms.

The Associate, Origination Marketing & Proposals reports to the Senior Director, Origination Marketing & Contract Administration, works directly with all Origination team members, and acts as a liaison with multiple cross-functional groups including Development, Business Development, External Affairs & Communications, Strategy, and Asset Management. This position offers exposure to many various functions within Clearway and provides the opportunity to gain excellent experience to grow within Origination or the broader Clearway organization. #LIhybrid

What You'll Be Doing

Proposal Management (60% of the role, Avg. 1-2 Proposals due per week):

  • Manage and create best-in-class proposals to support Clearway's Origination efforts.

  • Read and interpret RFP requirements and utilize existing templates to draft the initial proposal. Work together with the project team and seek guidance from subject matter experts to develop updated and customized responses.

  • Maintain and update a central repository of proposal templates, company overviews, and project information.

  • Format proposal documents and create graphics, maps, and images to accompany proposal text.

  • Report weekly RFP calendar and key Origination priorities across the company.

Origination Marketing:

  • Collaborate on various customer related marketing activities such as creating and updating factsheets and slides, updating portions of the company website, collecting customer approvals for press releases, and more.

  • Support the planning and execution of customer events (ex: conference sponsorships, ribbon-cutting events, etc)

  • Investigate key insights and market trends gathered from customer RFPs, participation in industry associations (such as CEBA, NAEMA), 3rd party databases and reports (BNEF, S&P, ACP), and sustainability reporting protocols.

  • Work together with the team on lead generation and power marketing strategies for our early-stage projects.

Contract Reporting:

  • Assist in the tracking and reporting of newly executed customer agreements including reporting key contract terms and financial information to cross-functional teams.

  • Assist in the exploration of platforms and shared databases to improve efficiency of reporting contract terms.

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience in technical writing, content creation, proposal management, project management, consulting or relevant coursework. Prefer experience from within the energy/renewable energy industry or sustainability field. Open to considering Senior Associate level position for candidates with more than 4 years of experience.

  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for our company's vision to create a world powered by renewable energy.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work.

  • Outstanding verbal and written communicator with ability to summarize technical content clearly and succinctly.

  • Superior organizational, time management, and planning skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to travel on a quarterly basis to attend team meetings in Clearway's offices.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Microsoft Word and PowerPoint).

  • Writing sample and positive work reference required as part of the interview process.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations

$71,000—$93,000 USD
