Meta Associate General Counsel, Regulatory and Product (Payments) in San Francisco, California

Summary:

Meta is looking for an Associate General Counsel, Regulatory and Product (Payments) who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples' lives. You will help drive high-profile cross-functional initiatives across the business involving a variety of complex legal and regulatory issues, relating to managing risk for financial and payments products. This requires strong business acumen and the ability to both work independently and with large multi-stakeholder teams. We are looking for someone with sharp analytical and communication skills, who is diligent, proactive, collaborative, and who has demonstrated excellent legal and business judgement and strategic thinking.

Required Skills:

Associate General Counsel, Regulatory and Product (Payments) Responsibilities:

  1. Provide legal advice on payment laws, financial services regulations, data privacy, consumer protection, and enforcement actions for existing products and new features

  2. Assess legal risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and provide legal advice to engineering and risk teams, in connection with maintaining integrity of the financial platform

  3. Monitor and conduct analyses of new regulations in the payments/financial services space to assess their applicability to the payments/financial products

  4. Lead cross functional efforts to develop an approach for engagement with regulators and public policymakers for key financial regulatory areas impacting our products

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. Degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. Bar

  2. Experience advising on regulatory frameworks relevant to payments and financial services systems, including working directly in the regulatory and business environments and advising members of both legal and business teams

  3. 8+ years of legal experience, including at law firm, government, and/or in-house experience

Public Compensation:

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
