Meta Associate General Counsel, AI Product in San Francisco, California
Summary:
Meta seeks a highly motivated technology enthusiast to serve as Product Counsel for our AI organization. This role will advise the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning teams on legal and regulatory issues, which will require application of complex and evolving legal frameworks to a new and innovative space. Associate General Counsel, AI Product Responsibilities:
Serve as primary legal partner for several AI product and policy teams working on proposed AI and ML initiatives, including research and publications, to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions
Coordinate with public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing, trust and safety, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, and product development and launches
Lead consensus building across legal partners and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as data protection and privacy, IP, intermediary liability, consumer protection, security, e-commerce, payments, integrity and other global legal frameworks
Review global products, features, platforms and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions

J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent)
Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status
10+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house experience with internet or technology companies
Experience with product or regulatory counseling related to areas of law such as consumer protection, privacy, data security, and intellectual property law
Demonstrate business judgment and client counseling skills
Effective communication skills

Understanding of AI and Machine Learning technologies
Prior in-house experience at a technology company
Proven experience of identifying potential roadblocks early and developing plans to mitigate risks
Experience collaborating in a multi-stakeholder environment, navigating complex issues, and driving high-impact projects
Experience of consistently working under your own initiative, seeking feedback and input where appropriate
Public Compensation:
$226,000/year to $304,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
