Job Title: Associate, Application Engineer

Summary of duties: Responsible for end-to-end development, deployment of software that powers the Aladdin product. Work closely with users, business analysis, senior tech leads to design software solutions. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Use high level programming languages like Java, Databases technologies like Sybase, NoSQL technologies like Cassandra to implement the solutions. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design. Use frontend technologies like Angular or React, HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create user interface screens for the products.

Qualifications: Master’s degree in Computer Science, or related field and one (1) year of experience as an Analyst, or related role. Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field and three (3) years of experience as an Analyst, or related role. One (1) year of experience with: Fluency in enterprise level software development languages including Java, Python, SQL, Protobuf, and Junit; Work on Front End UI Development on frameworks including React or Angular; Design, develop and maintain enterprise level scalable, extensible, testable, and high performing APIs - gRPC, REST; Ability to perform different type of testing for enterprise software, including writing unit tests during development cycle, end-to-end testing, regression testing; Frameworks and technologies including SQL and Non-SQL databases, Spring, and Hibernate; Object-oriented design and programming, multi¬threading, different design patterns, and software development best practices; Independently gather and understand business requirement, communicate, and collaborate with other members on the team to build enterprise level software; Software development life cycle, including understand and practice agile development practices, building and maintaining efficient CICD pipelines, participate and manage release processes, and; Strong problem solving skills and deep understanding of the software ecosystem for production issue support. Any amount of experience with: Caching technologies including Ignite or Redis, and; Messaging frameworks including Kafka.

Salary Range: $138,000 - 157,500

Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
