National Experienced Workforce Solutions Air and Radiation Division Policy and Regulation Support (SCA-521) in San Francisco, California

Duties:

Provide expert level advice and recommendations related to the development, evaluation and processing of local air pollution regulations. Collaborate with EPA federal staff and attorneys in providing guidance and feedback related to Clean Air Act requirements.

  • Analyze state/local regulations for consistency with national policy. Requires expert level interpretation and understanding of Clean Air Act Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT) requirements. 20%
  • Provide written and oral guidance to state/local agencies on national policy. Work directly with attorneys and EPA staff to develop written comments and to provide them to state and local counterparts in writing or in virtual meetings. 20%
  • Prepare Federal Register notices approving state/local regulations. Requires drafting technical support documents and federal register notices for peer, attorney and management review. 20%
  • Continue research and developing expertise related to Federal policy and assigned industrial activities. 20%
  • Other duties/special projects as assigned. 20%

Qualifications:

Minimum of 10 year(s) of experience in similar regulatory-related work. OR BA/BS Degree in Engineering or physical science degree preferred, although job can be performed by persons with general technical competence.

  • Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint, Copying Machine, Scanner
  • MS Teams, SharePoint, Powerpoint, Excel, Word, Outlook

Other:

  • EPA will provide training in air pollution technologies and policies needed to perform job.
  • Travel Requirements: Only as needed.
  • Overnight travel: 1-2 trips / year as needed
  • Air travel anticipated: as needed.
  • Rental cars: as needed.
