ADP Senior Data & BI Reporting Engineer in San Dimas, California

ADP is hiring a Senior Data & BI Reporting Engineer.

In this role, you will be responsible for acquiring, cleansing, and analyzing large data sets using technologies like Databricks, S3, Python, Oracle and do exploratory analysis to understand our complex data structures and relationships and create data reporting using tools like Tableau. You'll work with multiple stakeholders to identify, design, develop and implement ad-hoc data reporting solutions and provide data required for decision-making. You'll synthesize data sets into patterns that answer ad hoc requests.

No two days are the same. You will work alongside a team of passionate, creative developers to design data extraction, develop data models, and provide data for reporting and analysis. You will also use data to help drive business decisions and improve operational processes.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be an expert in data technologies like Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Tableau and have a strong background in data engineering, data analytics and reporting solution development. WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day in the life of a Senior Data & BI Reporting Engineer at ADP.

  • Data Reporting and Analytics

  • Analyze data patterns between disparate complex data sources and structures.

  • Design and develop data extractions and complex transformations using ETL tools to do data research from various data sources with prior experience in Cloud technologies like AWS, Databricks etc.

  • Create robust data reporting solutions through Cognos and Tableau to support analytics, research, dashboards, data mining, trending etc.

  • Create and present analysis to individuals in business language to drive business decisions.

  • Follow SDLC cycle and ensure robust data testing and accuracy.

  • Collaborate with business team to design, develop, test and refine deliverables.

  • Design data trending charts using complex datasets.

  • Develop complex queries against Mainframe, Oracle, DB2, S3, Databricks etc.

  • Understand the enterprise applications architecture design and development best practices for analytical applications.

  • Administration

  • Administer IBM Cognos reporting environment.

  • User set-up and security.

  • Problem Solving

  • Comfortable working with complex data scenarios with tech that has never been used before. Inevitable challenges will arise, and we'll rely on you to look for a solution.

A college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Math is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills and experience to do the job. To be successful in this role , you'll have 5-7 years of experience in the same or similar role driving complex data reporting and analytics using SQL, Databricks, Python, Tableau etc.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

  • Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in education and experience with a major area of concentration in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Math. Isn't required but could set you apart.

  • 5 - 7 years of directly related experience in working with complex data engineering and analytics.

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, Python, Tableau etc.

  • Knowledge of advanced scripts/procedures/statements using DML and DDL (SQL statements) against databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity or commissions. The compensation for this role is $61,800.00 - $165,330.00 / Year
