BAE Systems Product Marketing Manager in San Diego, California

Job Description

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.

Seeking a technical product marketer who enjoys simplifying complex narratives into effective product messaging, positioning, and value proposition through persuasive presentation content and marketing copy. With a strong blend of strategic, analytic, and creative skills, this candidate will collaborate with our Sales and Product Development teams to communicate the benefits of the GXP software ecosystem to our customer base while developing effective Go-To-Market strategies. Representing a unique opportunity to direct marketing strategy as a senior member of the marketing team in a multi-national organization, this role requires a creative, data-driven, team player with a hands-on approach and a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evolve effective product value proposition, positioning, and messaging across the entire spectrum of marketing channels

  • Collaborate with internal sales, product, and customer support personnel to source technical data and ensure consistent communications and brand awareness

  • Function as a knowledge resource in the user benefits and technical capabilities of the GXP software ecosystem, our competitive environment, and the greater geospatial intelligence industry

  • Work with Graphic Design to create effective marketing collateral and presentation content to effectively support sales success; content may include marketing brochures, datasheets, case studies, white papers, presentations, website copy, interactive display and demo scripts, videos and webinars, emails/subject lines, social media, press releases, etc..

  • Create Go-To-Market plans and strategy in conjunction with Product Development and Sales teams for new products and continuing communications for new product releases

  • Leverage generative AI to develop product literature and marketing communications, as well as industry/competitive intelligence

  • Identify, monitor, summarize, and generate insights from a variety of market research sources including general industry reports, competitive intelligence, online search, and field reconnaissance

  • Design and perform primary market research to include surveys, user groups/advisory boards, and interviews in order to accurately assess market trends and opportunities, competitive intelligence, customer satisfaction and segmentation, resource prioritization, and pricing strategy

  • Support various elements of the marketing team including event management, graphic design, and PR/communications

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, GIS, or related field

  • 5 years of experience in a marketing/product marketing, product management, market research, or equivalent business role, preferably with a technology or SaaS based company

  • Relevant experience in the Geospatial / GIS market and geospatial software usage and/or development, as well as photogrammetric concepts

  • Experience in desktop, server, and cloud environments

  • Secondary marketing research experience including general industry research, competitive analysis, pricing analysis, and summary and presentation of findings

  • Amazing written communication skills and creativity including a strong grasp of grammar, extensive vocabulary, and copy editing skills with a strict attention to detail

  • Strong ability to create compelling PowerPoint sales and product presentations that present a persuasive story

  • Ability to grasp complex, technical (software) product / workflow details and translate them into a simple yet compelling narrative that can be understood by a broad spectrum of readers

  • Strong knowledge of primary methods of market research including surveys, user groups/advisory boards, interviews, customer satisfaction, and market segmentation

  • Ability to make data-driven and qualitative assessments based on market research

  • Proficiency in relevant systems including Microsoft Office applications

  • Strong project management skills and teamwork: coordinating time-sensitive projects and working to deadlines

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $113080 - $192280

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
