Insight Global Principal RFIC Layout Engineer in San Diego, California

Job Description

As an RFIC Principal Layout Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design of WiFi and Bluetooth radios using advanced deeply-scaled CMOS processes. You will work collaboratively with both domestic and international design engineering teams, providing support for layout projects both on-site and remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  Participate in the design and development of WiFi and Bluetooth radio frequency integrated circuits (RFICs).

  Provide oversight and direction for custom layout tasks, including managing layout designers and ensuring quality of work.

  Implement layouts from circuit schematics through to DRC and LVS checks for customer IP blocks.

  Ensure project objectives, milestones, and quality requirements are met consistently.

  Collaborate closely with the design team on floor-planning, power/ground arrangements, critical nets, matched devices, and top-level integration while assessing project schedules.

  Work alongside the internal CAD team to refine tool flows and enhance overall layout productivity.

  Utilize expertise in deep sub-micron FinFET technologies, focusing on 7nm and below, employing Cadence and Mentor design and verification tools.

Compensation: $75/Hour

Skills and Requirements

Extensive experience in RFIC layout, preferably with a focus on connectivity solutions such as WiFi and Bluetooth.

 Proficiency in deep sub-micron FinFET technologies, specifically at 7nm and below.

 Strong knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso and Mentor design and verification tools.

 Experience with analog RF design principles and methodologies. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

 Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting project deadlines.

 Bachelor in EE or revolving around computer design null
