Description
John Asdell with Robert Half is partnered with an established San Diego based company with revenues of $1B+ who is preparing to IPO. The company is in search of a Manager to lead their corporate general ledger function and drive the general ledger close. The role is offered with a hybrid work schedule. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the corporate accounting functions, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and adherence to accounting principles. Your role will be fundamental in maintaining the financial health of our organization and upholding our commitment to transparency and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the accounting subject matter expert, providing analysis, support, and guidance on high-level financial transactions to ensure proper adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Lead and manage the month-end and year-end close processes, focusing on timely and accurate completion of financial activities.
• Conduct complex account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and review reconciliations prepared by the accounting team.
• Perform financial analysis and variance analysis, providing insights into financial performance to support strategic decision-making.
• Establish and implement strong internal controls to ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during reviews, addressing audit inquiries promptly and facilitating the audit process.
• Collaborate with the FP& A team in developing financial reports to support business and leadership needs.
• Deliver accounting support for approval of all contract changes including setup, terminations, extensions, budget adjustments, and taxes.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, offering guidance, training, and development to ensure high performance and career growth.
• Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner and undertake other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate accounting or related field.
• CPA highly valued (can be inactive)
• Prior experience in public accounting also highly valued
• Prior experience in a corporate accounting department for a publicly traded company preferred, but not required.
