Description
Thriving full-service insurance defense firm in San Diego seeks Legal Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting entry-level legal assistant role for candidates interested in gaining experience at a law firm without plans to go to law school.
The Legal Assistant will learn litigation (filing with state courts, calendaring litigation deadlines, formatting legal documents) under the direction of the attorney. Litigation training will be provided, but some prior legal experience is required (law firm, legal department, or public sector).
The Legal Assistant position is full-time, permanent, with full benefits. The hours are 9am-5:30pm in Mission Valley. This entry-level legal assistant position is on site daily; please do not apply if you do not live near Mission Valley.
Pay is contingent upon experience, ranging from $50-60K (high end of range for folks who have at least a year of litigation experience at a law firm). The firm also covers medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K, PTO, and life insurance!

Currently live in San Diego and able to commute to Mission Valley daily
No law school plans before Fall 2026
Prior law firm or legal department experience (1 year)
