Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our industrial operations and maintenance team at a major pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the San Diego, CA. area.

Hiring hourly range: $30-$35 (hourly/salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for coordinating and scheduling repair and maintenance projects requiring the assistance of contractors or vendors; participates in estimates and evaluations of project costs; monitors work of vendors or contractors; ensures that all work complies with regulatory and facility maintenance standards. Maintains compliance documentation for all equipment and systems in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

The Facilities Technician will perform many daily general duties, including:

Ability to coordinate work among in-house and contract maintenance teams.

Vendor relationship skills.

Safe work permit generation and record maintenance.

Audit all work to ensure work is performed in a manner compliant with regulatory standards.

Complies with regulations and industry standards.

On call duty-responds to any issues and recommends repairs.

Responding and providing service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations, and industry standards.

Recommending measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.

Analyzing and resolving work problems, or assisting workers in solving work problems.

Understanding company policies and enforcing safety regulations. Performing daily duties of the position in a safe manner by following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag-out procedures while wearing PPE as required.

As an Amentum Technician, you will be expected to:

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.

Five years of experience in a planning or compliance role or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.

Working knowledge of basic mechanical equipment, pumps, fans, chillers, rooftop AHU’s, split systems, compressors, refrigeration, and more.

Strong written and verbal communication.

Ability to identify and correct any safety-related issues.

Ability to work overtime when required, including holidays and weekends.

oversee the implementation of policies and procedures, to maintain compliance with changes in regulatory codes and laws.

Supervise maintenance activities, keep records, and implement plans to maintain operation status of facilities and equipment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.

Some physical requirements include:

Regularly lift to 50 lbs.

Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding

Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement.

Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions

Special Requirements: Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed. Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with facilities maintenance in a pharmaceutical environment.

Experience coordinating multiple projects with multiple maintenance teams.

Experience maintaining documentation systems in a pharmaceutical environment.
