Technical Safety Services Customer Order Manager in San Diego, California

How will you make an impact?

The Customer Order Manager is a key leader and contributor that oversees a team of Customer Order Representatives. This team manages the purchase order (PO) collection processes, executes an efficient and accurate internal Service Order (SO) creation process, SO closure process, and ensures the accuracy of customer information and systems in partnership with the Sales and Planning departments.

You will not only lead this team, but also have a dynamic range of high-exposure responsibilities such as ensuring accurate company-wide management of customer data, assisting with acquisition integration activities, and working collaboratively with leaders across the organization on a variety of other initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Lead and ensure the productivity of a team of Customer Order Representatives, including facilitating regular department meetings.

  • Lead the interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management of the assigned team and develop personal growth opportunities for them.

  • Ensure the success of all customer order activities by managing the PO collection, SO creation, and SO closure processes, and evaluating risk factors that impact efficiency.

  • Establish, maintain, and revise department policies and procedures.

  • Identify order creation solutions based on information gathered through research and feedback gathered while working collaboratively with other stakeholders across the company.

  • Work cohesively with the sales department to optimize renewal business, finding new opportunities, and assist with the creation of sales quotes.

  • Manage customer database accuracy and ensure the team is directly updating service contracts and any other customer information while performing regular duties.

  • Review and advise on data from acquisition teams for entry into TSS databases for business continuity and customer data accuracy.

  • Provide insight and partnership to other regional administrative groups on critical customer processes such as reporting, quoting, and invoicing.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Salary range of $67,700 - $110,400 annually 

(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with industry data.)

    How will you get here?

    Education and Experience

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Requires 4+ years of relevant experience

  • Requires 4+ years of people management experience

  • A combination of education, training and related experience may meet requirements

  • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills.

  • Excellent business acumen with the ability to interface with executive level leadership.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to continually learn new services.

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail including time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently.
