Join a winning team supporting the Cardiovascular ICU Unit as a RN Clinical Mentor at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. Working together, you’ll bring your expertise, compassion and excellence to all we do. As a RN Clinical Mentor, you will function primarily as an RN with additional mentor responsibilities as a clinical expert, role model, mentor and resource in a designated practice area. You will take responsibility for assigned patients during RN relief periods and work collaboratively and educationally with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care. Also, you will be an educational resource and guide for the team of Registered Nurses regarding the nursing process, critical thinking, accountability for the plan of care and it's relation to patient outcomes, and communication / collaboration with all team members. Works collaboratively with the Charge Nurse, Educator and Manager of that area to develop a learning environment for the caregivers, as well as a service, outcome and care oriented environment for the patients.
This is a Full Time, 12-Hour Day Shift, position located at Prebys Cardiovascular Institute at the Scripps Memorial La Jolla campus.

Required Qualifications:
- Registered Nursing Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
- Active California RN license
- American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider, BLS and ACLS Certifications
- NIHHS Stroke Certification within first six months of employment
- Three (3) years of adult acute care ICU RN experience
- Be able to speak, read, and following instructions in English
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrate positive behaviors
Preferred Qualifications:
- BSN - Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Previous leadership experience
