Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The Walmart Marketplace is a curated community of respected, professional sellers who offer only top-quality, authentic products and best-in-class customer services.

The Manager, Strategic Initiatives , is responsible for analyzing the marketplace business , category strategic initiatives, and helping support future marketplace growth . You will be part of the Strategic Initiatives team and work with data & analytics, program, and finance teams to analyze the business holistically across multiple data sources. Identify problems and opportunities, visualize, and communicate findings and data-driven insights to inform priorities and better serve our internal stakeholders and sellers. You will also partner with Planning to support scoping and forecasting of current and future strategic initiatives supporting the Home business. You'll make an impact by:

  • Utilizing analytics to evaluate and review business performance, predicting outcomes and generating insights and recommendations to enhance decision making

  • Conducting comprehensive category analysis to proactively identify potential risks and capitalize on untapped business opportunities across subcategories, brands, product types

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop forecasts, LRPs, leveraging data-driven analytics, trend insights and business intelligence for future projections

  • Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to align inputs and share output, fostering collaboration and driving alignment

  • Empowering stakeholders with timely and accurate marketplace data and insights, enabling informed strategies and actions based on shifts in seller and consumer behavior

  • Providing in-depth analysis for follow-up questions arising from weekly business reviews

  • Ensuring strong data governance, documentation, and communication of analyses and methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience in retail planning, forecasting, finance or related area

  • Expert user of Excel, with experience in using BI systems (SQL experience not required)

  • Experience with data visualization tools (Looker, ThoughtSpot, Tableau)

  • Ability to pay attention to detail while handling multiple, simultaneous projects

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to construct simple and impactful message from complex analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, or related field or 4+ years of experience in retail planning, forecasting, finance, or related area.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $91,000.00-$169,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
