D&W Fine Pack Manager, Regional Sales - West Coast in San Bernardino, California

POSITION SUMMARY:
Remote Opportunity for a strong Sales hunter. The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will be responsible to grow DWFP’s business with regional restaurant chains. Working with the Director of Sales and coordinating with the Regional Business Manager, the RSM will develop and execute the foodservice regional account strategy to achieve growth in volume, profit and market share through best in class selling strategies. The RSM will focus on chains serviced by broadline and non-foods distributors with the goal of driving and/or anchoring distribution. The position will specialize in targeted account planning and development, customer and industry knowledge, internal stake-holder communication and alignment, and relationship management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safety
Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines
Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately
Task
Develop specific regional account business plans to identify, penetrate and retain customers with key food service distributors and target multi-unit end user accounts
Achieve budget and sales growth targets
Identify new business opportunities within assigned geography
Plan, negotiate and close contracts
Work with R&D on high volume custom/proprietary product opportunities
Exploit new ideas and strategies to capitalize on an ever changing packaging market
Build trusting client relationships
Develop product and service solutions to customers packaging challenges
Generate joint business plans and growth ideas to benefit customers & D&W at many levels including purchasing managers, R&D and focus on building relationships with upper management
Effectively communicate customers’ strategy, the voice of the customer and objectives to internal functions within D&W
Ensure D&W’s initiatives and processes align with customer strategies and requirements
Collaborate with all business functions (client services, pricing, forecasting, logistics, marketing, etc) to assure 100% customer satisfaction
Continually monitor competitive activity in the marketplace in the form of sales strategies, product market analyses, quality, promotional activity, new product introductions, competitive pricing and positioning
Support company Food Safety efforts through commitment and compliance to SQF standard practices and policies
Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices, or GMP’
QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to win and grow customers through a complete solutions selling process
Excellent negotiating skills
Excellent communication and presentation skills (both verbal and written) with a straightforward, articulate, tactful approach
Excellent listening skills
Detail orientation with the ability to think quickly, evaluate the facts/metrics and identify opportunities
Keen sense of priorities; must identifies gaps, assess urgency, and translate plans into actions and results
BA/BS or equivalent experience in foodservice, packaging, or related field
5+ years of experience in developing and managing a regional account territory
Experience with basic computer applications, including CRM, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to travel up to 50%
