Description

Our client, a leader in the construction industry, is hiring an experienced Lead Senior Accountant who will oversee the accounting staff and report directly to the Controller. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the day-to-day accounting operation with knowledge of construction and manufacturing companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including income statements, balance sheets, and other reports as directed by the Controller or CFO.

• General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger by posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring data integrity.

• Account Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and potential issues, providing insights to management.

• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations regarding financial transactions.

• Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulations.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in developing and monitoring budgets and financial forecasts.

• Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior staff accountants in accounting procedures and best practices.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

• Advanced proficiency in accounting software (Viewpoint Vista a plus)

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with different departments

• Proven experience in financial analysis and reporting

• Lead process improvement projects with knowledge of AI technology a plus
