International NPI Manufacturing Engineer Lead in San Antonio, Texas
Position Overview
International is seeking a NPI Manufacturing Engineer Lead to join our team at our Manufacturing Facility in San Antonio, TX
The NPI Manufacturing Engineer Lead will coordinate the introduction of new processes to the production line. In this position you will serve as liaison to manufacturing operations and other engineering departments to set and assure successful introductions and updates.
Responsibilities
Is responsible to analyze potential impact of new Products, features and/or process to be introduced in the manufacturing operations.
Leads implementation of processes, equipment, tooling and required infrastructure per international products and industry requirements.
Lead multidisciplinary teams may become actively involved, as required, to meet deadlines and resolve issues.
Performs and executes training plans, prepares manufacturing document specifications, coordinates pilot builds, and captures and follows up all issues identified in the implementation process.
Keeps records and presents reports regarding new process implementations.
Accountable of process readiness with cross-functional teams focused on safety and the quality of the product.
Responsible to communicate project status to upper management and executive teams during periodical reviews as well as execute escalation process as required
Provides direction to junior employees and makes decisions according to established policies, procedures, business plans and management guidance.
Support development and execution of training plans for junior employees
Support and assist with cross-functional teams in the introduction of new process and/or products per business requirements
Responsible for monitoring and presenting key metrics and KPIs for overall platform performance and process effectiveness.
Manage suppliers’ readiness, milestones and submits and follow up purchase requisitions per project needs
Define, manage, tracks and reports project budgets regarding capital and expenses
Coordinates design reviews with vendors, designers and other stake holders as required
Normally work independently.
Receives minimal guidance, little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments. May instruct, coach or provide informal guidance to other professionals or colleagues with less experience.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing
OR
Master’s degree
At least 3 years of experience in product manufacturing
OR
- At least 7 years of experience in product manufacturing
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
Experience with manufacturing equipment installations and tooling setup, systems integration and automation processes
Previous experience in Automotive / Truck manufacturing industry or any other high volume manufacturing world class industries
Experience with PFMEA and Design for Manufacturability
Experience with CAD software such as: NX, AutoCAD, Solid Works, etc.
Experience managing Capex projects
Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS office applications as well as PBi
Ability to communicate with flexibility and diplomacy when dealing with staff and coworkers.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Bilingual English – Spanish is a plus
Detail oriented
Strong work habits focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
