Robert Half Network Administrator in San Antonio, Texas
Description We are offering a contract-to-permanent employment opportunity for a Network Administrator in San Antonio, Texas. This role falls within the healthcare industry, and the selected candidate will be assisting in managing the company's internal network infrastructure while optimizing its performance.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor network performance to identify and resolve deficiencies.
• Implement software patches and hardware changes to enhance network performance.
• Configure and document Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) components such as firewalls, routers, switches, and hubs in accordance with business requirements.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support.
• Maintain and optimize Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 technologies.
• Utilize skills in Ethernet, LAN, Routers, Switches, TCP/IP, WAN, and VPN to maintain and improve network infrastructure.
• Act as a liaison with service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors to resolve network issues.
• Work closely with the team to handle an increase in workload due to expansion.
• Ensure the efficient and secure operation of all network-related hardware and software.
• Assist in the deployment, maintenance, and support of the company's data network. Requirements
• Proficiency in Cisco Products and Cisco Unity is required
• Must be skilled in the management and operation of Firewall systems
• Knowledge of Ethernet technology is necessary
• Experience in working with LAN - Local Area Network is essential
• Must have expertise in managing Routers and Switches
• Understanding of TCP/IP - Transm Ctrl Prot/Internet Prot is a must
• Experience with WAN - Wide Area Network is required
• Knowledge of VPN - Virtual Private Network is necessary
