General Summary

Responsible in providing interior cleaning of support vehicles, minor repairs on all fleet vehicles and safety inspections on all fleet vehicles. Will ensure the interior of the vehicles are clean and reflect a professional appearance. Will ensure all vehicles are state compliant. Will input data to departmental software and spreadsheets. Will coordinate and maintain all motor pool processes. Will take a rotating, on call schedule.

Provide world class customer service by capturing and being responsive to the voice of the customer (internal or external, including donors for select positions) through multiple feedback channels in order to resolve issues and drive satisfaction in accordance with the BBG customer engagement, feedback, and complaint processes.

It is essential that the incumbent have a valid driver's license and be at least 18 years old with a good driving record to meet organization driving standards.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Tasks

Perform interior detailing of all support vehicles. Take vehicles for yearly inspections.

Obtain yearly registrations.

Transport vehicles to and from other locations.

Pick up and drop off parts.

Answer motor pool emails for vehicle reservations.

Fuel vehicles as needed.

Perform eye wash inspection weekly.

Assist with minor repairs of Fleet vehicles.

Data input for Fleet software and spreadsheets.

Review fuel reports.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Tasks

May operate the forklift.

May perform Driver’s Training when needed.

Perform exterior detailing when needed.

Education

Requires a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Valid United States Driver’s License; Class B preferred/not required

Experience

Requires three months or more of automotive background experience, mechanic, parts or sales.

Requires three or more years of driving experience.

Knowledge

Must have some mechanical knowledge. Must have some computer knowledge.

Must have a familiarity of San Antonio area.

Must obtain a working knowledge of regulatory/quality requirements and perform within all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies.

Skills

Must be capable of operating small -large motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.

Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

Must be able to print and write legibly.

Must have strong computer skills.

Must be capable of operating motor vehicles in all types of weather conditions.

Must have experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint and Excel.

Must be able to use basic hand tools and other automotive equipment when necessary.

Abilities

Must be able to keep information confidential.

Must be able to utilize common hand tools. Must be neat in appearance and well groomed.

Must be professional, detail oriented, self-motivated, innovative, creative, assertive, organized, communicative, and have the ability to work independently.

Must have the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.

Must maintain a good working rapport with co‐workers and customers.

Working Environment

Works in a non-climate controlled condition but may also work in a well-lit, air‐conditioned and heated vehicle or office environments.

May work in confined spaces.

May be exposed to electrical and chemical hazards and other conditions common to an office environment. May be required to work at any time of the day, evening or night during the week or weekend to include being on‐call.

Occasional out of town and overnight stays required.

Ability to use personal motor vehicle for company business required.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to drive on behalf of the organization. Will sit, stand, walk, and drive during working hours. Requires ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
