Job Summary and Qualifications

The Application Support Analyst I responsibilities include assisting with second and third level support as a subject matter expert (SME) on assigned applications. This role will assist in new application testing, documentation, and implementation. The Application Analyst I will apply fundamental concepts gained through experience, existing policies and procedures, lessons learned, and best practices to solve routine or standard problems. This resource will execute guidance from their supervisor, senior, and consulting application analysts and will escalate issues in a timely manner. Lastly, this person will generally have greater responsibility than Application Analysts junior to the position and work independently with general/moderate supervision.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports team, division, and multiple facilities as a key IT resource for application implementation and support with greater responsibility than analysts junior to the role

  • Knows and applies the fundamental concepts and principles gained through experience to solve straight-forward problems

  • Considered the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for applications as assigned

  • Participates in multi-facility application implementation initiatives

  • Provides support by working with enterprise and facility resources as an application SME to resolve service desk incident tickets with an increased responsibility over analysts junior to the role

  • Participates in on call rotation and/or after hours support as needed

  • Collaborates with enterprise, division and/or facility colleagues to monitor and facilitate new application testing and implementation with an increased responsibility over analysts junior to the role

  • Assists the senior and consulting application analysts to develop policies and procedures, develop best practices and deliver training as needed

  • Participates in process improvement efforts to streamline efficiency that require greater accountability than analysts junior to the role

  • Assists the senior and consulting application analysts to actively promote and support division application standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization efforts with an increased responsibility over analysts junior to the role

  • Proactively conducts facility rounding to ensure support needs are met, interactions documented, and issues escalated as needed.

  • Adheres to service management operational policies and best practices, contributing to enterprise and IT service management goals.

  • Helps to implement action plans based on application data and reports

  • May perform application audits based on policies and procedures

  • Partners with teams across divisions and enterprise to develop best practices, track trends, share technical expertise, and improve application efficiency with an increased responsibility over analysts junior to the role

  • Promotes system security and patient confidentiality and helps ensure compliance

  • Adheres to Code of Conduct and Mission & Value Statement

  • Participate in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 1+ years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:

  • Basic understanding of healthcare and/or IT operations and processes

  • Demonstrated ability to establish and build relationships across a broad range of personality types

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with customers, clinicians, and colleagues verbally and in writing

  • Leadership and excellent teaching abilities

  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills

  • Understanding of reporting tools functionality and capabilities

  • Must have transportation to assigned work locations

Preferred:

  • Proficiency in various application and reporting tools

  • Customer service orientation and/or training

EDUCATION:

  • Associate’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • One+ years of general work experience (IT or healthcare experience preferred).

CERTIFICATE/LICENSE:

  • Valid state driver’s license and proof of auto insurance, if applicable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work is performed in an office environment. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people. Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations. Travel between facilities in a geographic zone will be required.
