This is an opportunity to have a huge impact on the lives of our users, as well as our design culture and operations.We're looking for a product-focused UX leader to guide the team responsible for the tools and services that help our members live their healthiest lives and navigate the healthcare system with ease and confidence, while pushing innovation in a complex problem space.As a Design Manager, you'll be responsible for the growth and development of your team. You'll also partner closely with product and engineering leaders in the Member Experience group to drive our vision and guide the work to bring that vision to life.General Functions and Outcomes *Lead a team of designers working on desktop and mobile app experiences for our 2+ million health plan members. *Guide the design team through their day-to-day work while also keeping an eye on the bigger picture and driving the overall vision. *Identify and grow talent within the design team. Guide individual goal-setting and support your team with coaching and mentorship. *Be comfortable jumping in and getting hands-on, partnering with other designers, product managers and development teams. *Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and leaders to shape our vision for the member experience and create space for others to collaborate. Help turn business objectives into customer centered problems and steer team strategy. *Design, guide, and drive collaboration processes. Meet regularly with designers to provide and gather feedback on project progress. *Help define and drive design hiring goals. Recruit and interview designers and actively improve our design hiring and onboarding processes. Minimum Requirements *You're a fantastic communicator and storyteller. *You're happy to jump into Figma on occasion, applying your own outstanding interaction design, service design, and research skills to help your team deliver impactful experiences. *You're comfortable evangelizing human-centered design and coaching cross-functional partners and teams that are less familiar with design. *You've worked in an agile environment with fellow design, product, engineering and research leaders to align on product strategy and deliver as a team. *You're passionate about solving problems and having a positive impact on peoples' lives. *You're an expert in your craft and you're still hungry to learn and grow as a designer, leader, and team member. *You see the best in your teammates and believe that great design is collaborative. *You have an online portfolio that effectively demonstrates your expertise. The UX Design Manager would have a bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience managing other designers, and 8+ years of experience designing at consumer-focused product companies, or for agencies with clients in those areas. You're able to foster and grow design culture in cross-functional teams through advocacy, or equivalent combination of education and experience.This position includes 401(k), healthcare, paid time off, paid holidays, and more.
