At MasTec Communications Group we build for the future. Yours and ours. As an Field Wireline Director of Operations, this position is not your normal Director role. This position is much more! It is a boots in the field Director. Your hands are in it all! In this role you are not in the office. We are looking for a leader in the field * Heavy Travel -50% across the MTN region - by plane and by car. * This is an underground construction position - * You are out in the field, confirming progress, quality, and safety. Must be incredibly organized and able to communicate directly with front line, contractors, and leadership Must have wireline and underground construction experience. Travel will include CO, UT, WY, NM, and parts of ID, NV, and AZ Responsibilities
As a Field Wireline Director of Operations, you are responsible for a telecom construction business unit building buried and aerial plant to meet customer expectations and designated timelines. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge. In addition, you will: * Develop positive business relationships to diagnose and understand current and potential customer needs * Lead and direct business unit operations staff in the effective and safe execution of projects * Establish clear and frequent channels of communication with the customers * Manage team to meet budgets and schedules and ensure customer satisfaction * Establishes tracking reports and coordinates with field leaders to manage internal and contractor performance to ensure completion and safety/quality control. * Manage revenue and costs to deliver a profit to MasTec, with ultimate PandL responsibility for the business unit. * Make staffing decisions, train new employees, and develop employee performance * Prepare and present detailed construction cost estimates and documentation * Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
Qualifications
About You: * You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality * You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work * Have a bachelor's degree in Construction Technology, Engineering, or a related field of study. (Or equivalent work history) * Have 10 years of total relevant experience, including previous supervisory experience. * Experienced in managing divisional or department budgets. * Experienced in managing projects to completion. * Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Have strong interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and upper management.
