Description
Wheeler Machinery Co, is seeking to hire a full-time Wireless Networking Technician in the Salt Lake City area. This position is highly dynamic, with the project scope spanning both inside-plant (ISP) and outside-plant (OSP) telecommunication infrastructure as well as wireless networking sensors. Part of Campbell Companies and is among a strong portfolio of recognizable companies, such as: ICM, Monson Engineering, Sitech Intermountain, Gardner Energy, and Heritage Industries.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, and test fiber optic, coaxial, and copper cabling at commercial/industrial work sites
Install, terminate, configure, and test various wireless networking sensor technologies (ie; door access, security systems, cameras, geo radar, water monitoring, etc)
Work with customers to configure networking equipment
Lift heavy equipment and supplies
Perform aerial installations
Identify the best route for cable installation
Interact professionally and positively with customers
Operate boom trucks/lifts; climb poles and towers as needed
Operate a company vehicle between home/office, warehouse, and work sites
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1-year related experience; 3+ years preferred
History and a strong commitment to working safely with quality
Mining experience is preferred, but not required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Comfortable in tight spaces, working at heights, and at industrial worksites
Comfortable working in various environments, which may include seasonal temperatures and inclement weather
Effective communication skills
Able to work extended hours and overtime as needed
Eagerness to learn new technologies
A valid driver's license and ability to pass/maintain a license to operate vehicles above 10,000 lbs.
Ability to earn and maintain MSHA 5000-23 certification (company-funded training)
Ability to travel overnight as needed (estimated 5-25%)
