Position Overview

This position will support AMAT's Telematics initiative for Jack B Parson. The goal is to provide support to our drivers, managers and front-line employees with the hardware and software essential for their day-to-day responsibilities. This includes managing inventory, training new drivers, coordinating software updates, and managing reporting capabilities for operations staff. This role will be directed by current TTSC to interact with several lines of business to ensure our employees have the hardware support needed, and to ensure our staff have assistance for troubleshooting and coordinating updates for existing software, as well as a point of contact for rolling out new software.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Onboarding new employees

  • Drivers will need application setup, equipment ordered, and training
  • Operations center and back-office staff will need application setup and training
  • At plant or on job repairs for faulty hardware or installation issues

Liaison between vendors, AMAT and local IT, users, and other duties as directed by current TTSC

  • Troubleshoot software, coordinate solutions with O or vendor, keep staff updated of progress
  • Notify users of any updates or maintenance that may affect their day-to-day processes
  • Monitor usage of products, offer suggestions to improve utilization, and keep TTSC informed if corrective actions need to be taken
  • Provide feedback to TTSC and interested parties concerning JBP's development needs, opportunities and issues

Hardware Maintenance

  • Conduct regular hardware check-ins to maintain a positive relationship with drivers and to identify poor care trends that should be addressed
  • Track inventory and assist in ordering parts when necessary
  • Check for non-reporting trucks; notify managers and shop to determine level of action needed
  • Maintain organization of equipment distribution

Software Maintenance

  • Coordinate system and application updates
  • Oversee usage and accuracy of software
  • Continue to learn and utilize the full functionality of the programs, as well as support process improvements in coordination with software capabilities
  • Provide suggestions for development and improvements to the programs

Workplace Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel to the field to assist drivers as needed and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary
  • Report to work at the designated start time
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required or requested.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.
  • Adhere to any and all state and federal regulations, if applicable, as set forth by the US Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA), or any other regulatory agency.

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (G D) preferred.

Work Requirements

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is necessary
  • Previous work within the construction industry is preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, percent, land to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be able to type and use keyboards accurately and have a strong working knowledge of Database software
  • Excellent customer service skills
