UnitedHealth Group Sr Accountant - Hybrid in Draper UT in Salt Lake City, Utah

If you are live in Draper UT / Salt Lake City UT regional area, you will have the flexibility to work remotely*, as well as work in the office as you take on some tough challenges. (Hybrid working environment 3 days per week in the Draper UT office location)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations and postings to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger

  • Record monthly journal entries and develop underlying support

  • Stay abreast of new accounting rules and make appropriate changes in policies and procedures

  • Plan and execute the ongoing re-assessment of internal controls over financial reporting

  • Work with the Accounting Manager on ad hoc accounting projects

  • Interface and assist the Accounting Manager and Controller with the internal and external audits conducted at the Bank throughout the fiscal year

  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot financial problems to ensure operational effectiveness and maintain proper controls

  • Work with different departments throughout the Bank on various projects to provide finance’s perspective and input

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance or related field

  • 2+ years accounting/finance experience with a proven understanding of accounting theory

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Advanced Formulas)

  • Must be willing to work MST (Mountain Time) business hours regardless of remote working location in the US

  • Must be willing/able to travel to the Draper UT office location approximately once per year (or as business needs dictate) for in-person team collaboration meeting(s)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA designation

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience in the banking industry
