University of Utah Pediatric Psychologist Specializing in I in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
The Division of Pediatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a pediatric psychologist with expertise and interest in inpatient consultation liaison psychology. Our growing service at Primary Childrens Hospital provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care and education to address the complex needs of children and adolescents with chronic medical illness throughout the Intermountain West.The Consultation-Liaison Service is a dynamic, fast-paced clinical program that is currently staffed by pediatric psychologists, child and adolescent psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, care manager, behavioral health specialists, and trainees ranging from student to fellow in pediatrics, psychiatry, and psychology. We provide assessment, therapy, psychoeducational, and support services to hospitalized children at Primary Childrens hospitals including the intensive care, burn, general medical and surgical, and rehabilitation/ neurotrauma units. The pediatric psychologist co-leads our vibrant service, working closely with trainees to liaise with medical teams and subspecialty services, provide direct and supervised patient care, and educate our community and hospital-based pediatricians.Qualified candidates must have a PhD or PsyD from an accredited psychology training program and have completed an APA-approved internship specializing in clinical child or pediatric psychology. Requisite experience including fellowship in health psychology or equivalent experience with medical patients in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have expertise in consultation-liaison psychology in hospital settings. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure Track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.The Department and University offers a competitive salary and unmatched benefits program including non-contributory retirement contributions of 20.2% of annual salary that vest immediately.
