University of Utah Pediatric Psychologist Specializing in C in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

The Division of Pediatric Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking a pediatric psychologist with expertise and interest in treating pediatric pain disorders and other conditions resulting in functional disability. Our growing treatment programs at Primary Childrens Hospital provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care and education to address the complex needs of children and adolescents with chronic medical illness throughout the Intermountain West.The PAUSE program (Pain, Autonomic dysfunction, Unexplained Symptoms, Evidence-based care) is a vibrant team of professionals further developing their interdisciplinary diagnostic, treatment, and education services for children and adolescents with functional disability, associated with postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS) and other autonomic disorders, long COVID syndrome, functional pain syndromes, chronic fatigue, and functional neurological disorders. In addition, there are opportunities for the pediatric psychologist to join our interdisciplinary headache program and/ or our motility and colorectal clinics working with patients experiencing pain and functional disability associated with gut-brain interaction disorders and other overlapping conditions.The pediatric psychologist will work closely with nursing, OT/PT, psychiatry, community- and hospital-based pediatricians, and several of our subspecialty physicians. The psychologist is critical to the implementation of various cognitive-behavioral therapies for chronic pain patients. Responsibilities include identification and treatment of and implementation of psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic modalities, individually, in groups, and as part of an integrated team to address health-associated functional disability.Qualified candidates must have a PhD or PsyD from an accredited psychology training program and have completed an APA-approved internship specializing in clinical child or pediatric psychology. Requisite experience including fellowship in health psychology or equivalent experience with medical patients in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have additional experience with pediatric feeding disorders and familiarity with Chronic Pain and Functional disorders. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Clinical or Tenure Track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.The Department and University offers a competitive salary and unmatched benefits program including non-contributory retirement contributions of 20.2% of annual salary that vest immediately.
