PEAAC, THE Medical Assistant, Part-time in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah
A woman-owned holistic sports-medicine clinic and wellness center, is looking for a caring and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team as we build our newly formed Clinic. This part-time position will include training with the first client shift as of Sunday, April 21^st^. The MA will work closely with the CEO/Primary Care Physician to solidify patient care policies and procedures and provide excellent care to each and every patient. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, unflappable and understand the demands of professional performers and athletes. As the clinic grows, each day will be busy prepping rooms, checking in patients, assisting the Primary Care Physician and performing administrative tasks related to each patient visit. The main goal of the Medical Assistant is to ensure each patient is treated effectively and efficiently with professionalism, respect and kindness to ensure a culture that is inviting and safe for all our clients that enter our door.
The medical clinic specializes in eating disorder treatment and performing artist-athletes (dancers, gymnasts, figure skaters and musicians) ages 10-40+ and is passionate about providing a safe and secure environment for everyone. As a result, we support all employees to obtain a Safe Sport Certification to meet our stringent requirements. The Medical Assistant Position shifts are Sunday and Monday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. As the clinic grows and we secure a team of providers, additional shifts will be available Tuesdays and Wednesdays. This is an excellent position for a medical student and/or individual looking to learn more about providing medical services and support to competitive athletes, performers, musicians and other high performing individuals.
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
Performing all tasks related to preparing for each patient visit (room and equipment preparation, administrative paperwork, etc.)
Performing all tasks related to checking in and out clinic patients
Assisting with and/or performing all administrative activities related to patient documentation & requests
Performing a variety of tasks to assist the CEO with maintaining professionally maintained patient rooms and clinical processes and procedures
The skill sets and requirements for this position include:
1+ year's experience working in the hospitality, call center, customer service environment
1+ year's experience working in a medical office setting (preferred not required)
1+ year's experience working as a Medical Assistant (preferred not required)
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Amazing listening skills
Excellent observational skills and ability to read non-verbal cues
Knowledge of/capable of mastering Electronic Medical Records programs/systems
Understanding of the demands on high performing athletes/musicians and professionals
Ability to stay calm under pressure; unflappable
Ability to provide trauma informed care
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Applications
Adaptable to new technologies/apps
&nbs p; Able/capable of learning how to operate automated basic medical equipment
Capable of climbing stairs throughout the day
Capable of lifting up to 20lbs
18 years of age or older
High school diploma or GED
Certified as a Medical Assistant (preferred, but training can be provided)
CPR Training; willingness to learn
Understanding and respect for HIPAA guidelines
Willingness to get Safe Sport Certified and operate within the SSC guidelines (company will support training time for class)
Ability to arrive consistently on time and ready to welcome clients with a smile
