Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking 3 mechanical/electrical technicians ranging from level A to level C. This position will perform a variety of maintenance tasks including diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment. Technicians work as part of a team to safely perform Preventive Maintenance Activities as well as answer breakdown calls in a Production Environment. All Maintenance Technician positions are multicraft, and training is provided to develop these skills. Technicians will be required to perform a range of work from hands-on mechanical to electrical and, when needed, support facilities. Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot machinery, conduct full teardowns and builds as needed, and be comfortable with live wiring and using meters (600V or less - 480V/120V/48V/24V). Machinery will range from conveyor belt systems, Flexo (printing machines), dye cutters, fold/gluers machines, corrugators, boilers, VFDs (Variable Frequency Drive), and gearboxes. Technicians will use a range of hand and power tools. Technicians supply their own basic hand tools, but a tool stipend (or replacement) is provided to help maintain these tools. Safety shoes, safety glasses, and uniforms are also provided. Technicians must read basic layout diagrams, common symbols, legends, and interpret title information, utilize basic machine shop tools (drill press, band saw, grinder, arbor, hand tools), and perform basic preventative maintenance such as lubricating machinery, visual inspections, hydraulic PMs, changing/adding oil, changing filters, pneumatic PMs, and checking for leaks. An understanding of zero energy state for various forms of energy and the ability to follow lockout procedures is required. Use of basic diagnostic tools such as a voltmeter and the ability to discern between electrical and mechanical problems is essential. Technicians must be willing to pursue ongoing technical training, be passionate about maintaining a safe work environment, and be able to work any available shift and overtime as needed. Basic computer skills, time management skills, and good attendance are critical. Understanding the use of proper PPE and maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential.
