SkyWest Airlines Inspector Maintenance SLC in Salt Lake City, Utah
Primary Job Duties
Assure that all aircraft, maintenance work, materials, and practices conform to the standards established by SkyWest Airlines, and that any aircraft, engine, propeller, or appliance released for flight is airworthy.
Exercise individual initiative and judgment to make decisions when necessary concerning airworthiness of the aircraft
Must ascertain that all inspections are performed on all completed work before an aircraft is released for service, and forms required for such release are properly executed
Will compare current aircraft maintenance logs with repeat item report to determine whether additional troubleshooting or corrective action may be warranted
Assure compliance with RII requirements as dictated in the GMM
Assure that no aircraft is released in conflict with the MEL preamble and MEL procedures
Assure that all pilot discrepancies are addressed
Assure that aircraft flight log times are audited and corrected
Assist maintenance supervisor in reviewing the camp discrepancy logs and aircraft maintenance logs for repetitive squawks
Coordinate the functions of inspection with production to achieve efficient and economic processing of work
Perform all other tasks as assigned by the Manager of Quality Control
These duties and responsibilities may be delegated to a designated inspector as necessary
If a situation arises in which an inspector is unable to make an acceptable decision or judgment, or his/her decision is challenged by another individual, the matter will be referred to the Manager of Quality Control
Minimum Requirements
Must have a valid A&P Certificate
Must hold a valid unrestricted driver's license
Familiar with inspection and maintenance procedures
Must be able to work unsupervised and be a self Starter
Must have excellent communication and people skills
Problem solving and organizational skills a must
Willing to work holidays and weekends
Conscientious and thorough in his/her work habits
Exercise good judgement in working with people as well as in aircraft maintenance and safety
Has a thorough knowledge of GMM policies and procedures.
Level III preferred
Familiar with FAR's
