ELWOOD STAFFING Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in SALT LAKE CITY, Utah

About the Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the continuous operation of our manufacturing equipment. Tools and equipment used include concrete mixers, stressing jacks, cranes, electric welder, gas welding and burning equipment, various power tools, meters, gauges, automotive and electrical test equipment and miscellaneous machine and hand tools. Materials include grease, oil, welding rods, wire, pipe, replacement parts and various maintenance supplies.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Accountability for the preventative maintenance process and compliance to company goals and objectives.
  • Troubleshooting and/or repair for all plant equipment and tooling.
  • Directing other plant personnel in daily maintenance operations and equipment repair compliance.
  • Inspecting mechanical, troubleshoots, electrical and mobile equipment to determine required maintenance.
  • Educating and training employees on basic maintenance of equipment through a preventative maintenance program; grease, oil, clean and adjust mechanical and mobile equipment.
  • Auditing preventative maintenance compliance to ensure employees are following daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
  • Adjusting repairs or replaces parts, assemblies, and machine equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints for repair and installation of equipment.
  • Performing welding, burning, brazing and soldering as required to maintain plant equipment.
  • Maintaining all plant equipment, hand tools, power tools, cranes, hoists, trucks, welders and torches.
  • Keeping preventive/corrective maintenance records on all equipment.

About You

We Require:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience.  Prior maintenance experience preferred.
  • Preferred understanding of precast/prestress concrete manufacuting and knowledge of MaintainX software.
  • Demonstrates understanding of mechanical/electrical problems and fixes.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and mobile equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Good root cause problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, or sit for long periods of time. 
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs for short periods of time.
