The Global Medical Affairs Adjacency Innovation position will contribute to the development of strategy and execution of innovation in disease areas that represent adjacencies to the current bioMérieux areas of focus. The role will be responsible for exploring, evaluating, and determining clinical utility, clinical value, and unmet clinical needs of diagnostics in relation to a wide range of disease areas outside of the typical Infectious Disease diagnostic space.

The candidate will be board certified in Internal Medicine with a preference for a hematology/oncology subspecialty and have deep knowledge in the practice of medicine including clinical practice guidelines and practice trends. The ideal candidate will enjoy learning, mastering the medical literature, be naturally curious, and enjoy engaging academic experts in disease areas of interest. As the medical representative on an innovation team, the candidate must have strong communication and emotional intelligence skills and the ability to explain clinical practice concepts to non-physicians. Additionally, it will be important for the candidate to enjoy being part of a team. Additionally, the candidate should be able to conduct critical review of published clinical research and be able to make determinations regarding the relative strength of evidence based on the type and quality of the science.

Primary Duties:

  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Identify and evaluate new opportunities for diagnostics in disease areas outside the traditional infectious disease space, focusing on areas with significant unmet clinical needs.

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of medical literature and clinical guidelines to assess evidence strength and inform innovation strategy.

  • Serve as the medical expert within cross-functional innovation teams, effectively translating clinical practice concepts for non-physician stakeholders.

  • Deliver clear and compelling presentations of clinical insights, evidence summaries, and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders

Minimum Requirements:

  • Medical Degree required (MD/PhD a plus)

  • ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine required (Oncology/Hematology a plus)

  • 5+ years of practice in an academic medical center environment

  • 2+ years of experience in Medical Affairs function is a plus
