We are currently seeking a Financial Analyst – Data Quality Specialist as part of our Finance Incentive Compensation department. Finance Incentive Compensation is integrated within the large Corporate Finance division at Zions Bancorporation. The Financial Analyst will join our Finance Incentive Compensation Team responsible for administration of incentive compensation plans for nearly 3,000 employees across 11 states. Our team assists business leaders to design, implement, and manage optimized and equitable incentive programs through standard financial metrics, incentive reporting, and plan administration. As a Financial Analyst – Data Quality Specialist you will ensure alignment between the finance compensation team’s business needs and data engineering solutions. You will play a key role in motivating and rewarding employees for exceptional performance by serving as the dedicated support and translator between the finance team and data engineers by providing business requirements. The work you do has an impact for employees across the organization and drives enterprise strategic goals.

The Incentive Compensation Financial Analyst – Data Quality Specialist will:

  • Function as subject matter expert of financial incentive performance metric calculations.

  • Develop and maintain data quality and integrity through technical guides, data pipeline mapping, user manuals, standard operating procedures, and data dictionaries.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the finance team and data engineers.

  • Gather and document business requirements for incentive compensation financial measures.

  • Translate finance requirements into technical specifications for data engineers.

  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria for data-related bugs and enhancements.

  • Drive efficiency through continuous process improvement to optimize current processes and implementation of new solutions.

  • Investigate complex and unsolved data issues and reporting problems, perform analyses with strong attention to detail, and coordinate solutions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (computer science, statistics, finance, etc.) is required.

  • 0-4+ years of related work experience.

  • Experience using SQL to query and manipulate large data sets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively to a large variety of audiences, from non-technical end-users to data engineers.

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements in a financial context.

  • Familiarity with Agile Development methodologies a plus.

  • Incentive Compensation experience a plus.

  • Experience with Power BI a plus.

  • Mid-Large size financial institution or financial services experience a plus.

    Location:

  • This position is located at the Zions Bank building in downtown Salt Lake City.

  • This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of:

  • Financial Analyst I $60-65k

  • Financial Analyst II $65-75k

  • Financial Analyst III $75-90K

  • Health Savings (HSA), Flexible Spending (FSA) and dependent care accounts

  • Paid Training, 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO). (PTO covers both sick and vacation days without distinguishing between them), 11 Paid Federal Holidays, and any applicable state holidays
