Oracle Director, Production Engineering / Site Reliability in Salt Lake City, Utah

This person will drive the delivery and technical direction including leading an organization through transformations into DevOps, implementation of an SRE model, microservice architecture, and re-platforming to OCI and multi-cloud. Someone who can lead and drive a strong engineering culture of highly performant teams built on a bedrock of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.

Responsibilities

This Director will have confirmed experience in cloud first enterprise applications. Ideally, they will be an operations and execution specialist – someone who instinctively analyzes engineering organizations to determine how to make them better. More specifically, they will have the experience described below:

• Own and deliver on transformations into DevOps, SRE models, automation, microservice architecture, and re-platforming to OCI and multi-cloud.

• Lead and drive a strong engineering culture of highly performant teams.

• Detailed understanding of engineering processes, techniques, and standard methodologies and ability to help optimize/redefine processes.

• Hands on – not just a leader/talker but also wants to roll up their sleeves to get the job done.

• Lead and encourage an organization of SREs and Systems Engineers, with a goal of automating operations tasks and driving alignment across engineering, operations, and partner organizations.

• Implement a culture of continuous improvement by diving into operational issues to consistently set a higher standard for performance.

• Excellent communication and multi-functional collaboration skills. Able to handle complicated meetings with internal and external executives.

• Partner with executives to ensure alignment between program teams and initiatives to deliver a consolidated roadmap, delivery, and outcomes.

• Address growth and development learning needs and improve well-being, and address process inefficiencies.

• Develop and implement strategies to improve communication, teamwork, and employee engagement.

• Passion for and ability to meet customer needs and lead an organization to deliver and launch scalable solutions.

• People management experience: Consistent track record of hiring and growing passionate employees.

• Technical competence.

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience leading first line managers and Sr. Managers with accountability across multiple departments and a team scope of at least 30 global employees

• Experience leading product reliability and lifecycle management as well as redefining a team to a modern DevOps/SRE model, preferably in a SaaS or Cloud capacity

• Experience implementing automation with tools such as Chef, Terraform, Ansible, and Jenkins.

• Experience with observability tools such as Oracle APM, New Relic, Grafana, and Splunk.

• Knowledge of healthcare industry and healthcare imaging is a plus

US: Hiring Range: from $120,300 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
