Director of Myeloid Malignancies Program, Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies, Department of Medicine, University of Utah/Huntsman Cancer Institute. Rank: Associate/Full Professor with focus on Myeloid Malignancies.

The Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies at the University of Utah and the Huntsman Cancer Institute are seeking to recruit a faculty member at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, that will lead the Myeloid Malignancies Program. The candidate should have a superb clinical skill set with an extensive clinical research program that addresses myeloid malignancies with a focus on early Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials. The ideal candidate will be expected to be highly collaborative and boost the Myeloid Malignancies Program with a variety of research projects with high potential for clinical impact. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have experience mentoring early-stage clinical investigators, including Heme/Onc fellows, to build a robust translational myeloid malignancies program at the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Candidates are expected to have a strong track record of leading clinical trials, including investigator initiated and multicenter cooperative group clinical trials. This position will practice primarily out of the Huntsman Cancer Institute and University of Utah Hospital. We invite applications from candidates who hold an M.D. or D.O. degree (or equivalent degree) with board certification in Hematology or Oncology with or without a PhD; possessing or being eligible for a Utah Medical License; with initiative, curiosity and demonstrated capabilities within an academic environment. There is also the possibility for highly talented candidates to become Associate Chief of Clinical Research for the Division.

The mission of the Division of Hematology and Hematologic Malignancies is to provide state of the art diagnostics and treatment in an environment of compassionate care to patients with hematologic cancer and non-malignant hematologic conditions. The Division currently has 25 full time Clinical Faculty members engaged in several subspecialties, who are also engaged in a broad spectrum of clinical, translational and basic research in Hematology. We are in a growth trajectory and look to expand our programs through high quality, innovation and dedication to the needs of our catchment population in the Mountain West. All clinical facilities are in close physical proximity to laboratories in the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
