COMPLIANCE ANALYST

The Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity (GOEO) is seeking a 

Compliance Analyst

 to join its compliance team. The Compliance Analyst helps to ensure adherence to all established policies,procedures,Rules,and Statute are followed and documented pursuant to a company receiving a tax credit. A successful candidate will have experience defining,evaluating,determining,documenting and defending qualification and amount of disbursement. The Analyst provides experience and guidance to members of the compliance team to achieve long and short term goals. The primary responsibility will be to ensure compliance with the Enterprise Zone program in addition to supporting other projects as identified by the Compliance Director.

Principal Duties

  • Perform and/or review regulatory/statutory research specific to tax incentives under the purview of GOEO
  • Verify data upon communication from company 
  • Examine purchase and payment documentation
  • Make inquiries when necessary,on incomplete or insufficient applications
  • Effectively communicate with team members and applicants
  • Ensure compliance with applicable statute,regulations,rules,policies,and procedures
  • Assist efforts to achieve or maintain compliance set forth by the Director of Compliance
  • Maintain and update assessment material
  • Manage time efficiently to complete projects on a timely manner
  • Security controls

Ideal Candidate

  • 1+ years' experience in compliance,audit or related position
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Detailed oriented,organized,and ability to meet deadlines
  • Clear and concise communication with superior written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Case Management software experience
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with preparing financial reports and documentation and reconciling financial statements
  • Higher education business degree or related field from an accredited institution is preferred but not required as are certifications such as the CPA,CIA,CFE,CGFM or similar certifications
