Job Summary

As part of the Executive Education team at The David Eccles School of Business, you’ll help drive the growth of our non-degree programs, conferences, and custom projects by building strong relationships and uncovering opportunities for long-term success. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Relationship Development:

  2. Build and maintain strong partnerships with new logo prospects across diverse industries.

  3. Develop account plans and strategies to expand engagement between local businesses and the university’s Executive Education offerings.

  4. New Business Development:

  5. Identify and pursue new opportunities through inbound and outbound channels, networking at community events, and leveraging connections.

  6. Act as a trusted advisor and challenger to uncover client needs and recommend tailored solutions.

  7. Sales and Execution:

  8. Support the full sales process, including creating proposals, coordinating with faculty, and managing logistics to ensure seamless delivery of programs.

  9. Collaborate with program coordinators to design and deliver exceptional customized client solutions.

  10. Technology and Analytics:

  11. Use CRM tools like Salesforce and Smart Sheets to track activities, manage pipelines, and document client interactions.

  12. Leverage available analytics tools to identify trends and make informed decisions.

  13. Market Trends and Collaboration:

  14. Understand and communicate market trends, competitor strategies, and client industries to customize offerings.

  15. Explore and build partnerships with other organizations to expand the university’s reach.

  16. Professional Development:

  17. Participate in professional growth opportunities, such as sales training, mentorship, and cross-departmental projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); four years of progressively more responsible related experience; and demonstrated human relation and effective communications skills required. A related Master’s degree preferred.

Preferences

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred but not required.

  • 2+ years of experience in sales, or business development. Cold sales outreach is large portion of this job. Strong candidates will have experience with cold-calling and networking to build new relationships.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce. (training will be provided).

  • Experience with basic office software and social media platforms for networking and engagement.

  • A growth mindset with a proven ability to adapt, collaborate, and succeed in dynamic environments.

  • Enthusiasm for learning about leadership, professional development, and organizational strategy.
