IAG is a worldwide function with 200 team members and offices across nine countries within American Express. We are committed to growing our audit staff significantly as we continue to expand and enhance the Internal Audit Group. Our assurance and risk professionals have diverse backgrounds including internal controls, consumer compliance, technology, operational risk, financial accounting, data analytics, and banking operations. Most IAG team members hold at least one professional certification. Our audit teams align to key risk areas and business units to ensure IAG can provide comprehensive and risk-based audit coverage. In addition, IAG has a Professional Practices group responsible for managing audit operations, quality, and standards; regulatory relations; reporting; training and professional development; and key internal capabilities and technologies.

Professional Practices – Training & Professional Development

The Internal Audit Group (IAG) provides internal training to colleagues in accordance with an established annual training plan. The trainings vary in nature between soft-skill and technical skill, with an emphasis on audit methodology and specific audit technical skills. IAG is seeking an experienced internal auditor to help design, develop and deliver audit methodology training to IAG colleagues and new hires. IAG is growing steadily over the next few years and therefore expects an increased need for focused new hire training and onboarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for design, development and delivery of new hire audit methodology curriculum/programs

  • Design, develop, and deliver audit-related training program components to diverse groups of auditors, who are geographically dispersed with varying levels of experience

  • Responsible for the technical review of all training content to ensure respective material is in line with IAG methodologies prior to delivery

  • Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to design, develop, and deliver meaningful training sessions. Develop tools and templates that SMEs can leverage when developing training programs

  • Assist in the annual training needs analyses to inform and develop a formal department-wide training and development curriculum that is aligned with IAG’s audit specific needs

  • Continuously enhance the Training & Professional Development Program to achieve the strategic objectives of the IAG Leadership team.

  • Create communications for new and ongoing learning initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong training and facilitation skills

  • Thorough knowledge and experience of internal audit methodologies

  • Solid leadership skills

  • 5 years of experience in internal or external audit

  • Experience delivering impactful training programs that effectively deliver on learning objectives and outcomes

  • Strong PowerPoint and presentation design skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills

  • College degree in either accounting/finance

  • Relevant professional certifications (CISA, CIA , CPA)

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
