The Department of Special Education at the University of Utah (https://special-ed.utah.edu/) seeks an outstanding individual for a Program Coordinator position in our Applied Behavior Analysis ( ABA ) program area. We are seeking an individual who has experience developing and teaching ABA coursework in various online formats, extensive knowledge of requirements for BCBA certification, and an understanding of requirements for program accreditation processes. Initially, this faculty member will play a key role in the development and launch of the new ABA online master’s program. Responsibilities will include: 1) collaborating with ABA faculty to develop and teach online coursework, 2) serve as ABAI verified course sequence coordinator, 3) lead collaboration with UOnline marketing and instructional design teams, 4) support efforts towards program accreditation, and 5) advise graduate students, including serving as chair of student master’s project committees. Following the program launch, we anticipate opportunities for this individual to engage in independent and collaborative research and engage in service that emphasizes partnerships within the University as well as with schools and organizations in the community. The Department of Special Education is aligned with the University of Utah’s mission to engage multiple communities to support improvements in quality of life outcomes for children and students, including those with and at risk for disabilities. In addition to academic program leadership, job responsibilities will include departmental, college and university service, and engagement in key state and national professional societies and organizations to further the mission of our leadership preparation programs.

This position is a nine-month non-tenure-track faculty position to begin by July 1, 2024.

Required Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in behavior analysis, special education, or a closely related field by August 15, 2024.

  • Active BCBA or BCBA -D certification

  • Experience in the design and teaching of online coursework related to applied behavior analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong collegial and collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, students, and members of the community

  • Experience working with university students, K-12 students and families from a wide range of cultural, linguistic, racial, gender identity, sexual orientation, socio-economic, and disability backgrounds and demonstrated commitment to the meaningful inclusion of individuals with disabilities in educational and related settings.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in the assessment, instruction, and behavioral support of students with a range of disabilities in clinical, public school, and/or similar settings,

  • Demonstrated success in interdisciplinary collaboration and scholarship

  • Experience providing supervision to pre-service behavior analysts
