We are looking for aProject Controls Lead to manage a team of project controllers performing project control services for Rio Tinto closure projects in the Americas Region (AMR). You will work seamlessly with the Closure AMR team members including the Global Project Services Manager, Principal and Senior Advisors. You will also liaise with the AMR General Manager and Rio Tinto Closure Finance Business Partner for reporting on AMR spend and progress. You will manage the workload, scope for work, and performance of the AMR project controllers and schedulers. You will oversee the coordination with District Managers, Asset Managers, Study Leads, and Contractors to verify cost and schedule performance for each project in the region. The Project Controls Lead will participate in stakeholder and project meetings, reviews, and coordinate routine internal project controls meetings. Responsibilities will be: * Report to the Global Project Services Manager for Closure. * Manage the regional implementation of the global project services mission, vision, and goals. * Manage AMR Project Controller's and Scheduler's workload, scope of work, deliverables, and performance. Both FTE and contractors. * Manager stakeholder engagement with AMR project leadership and leadership of supporting functions. * Manage SAP project creation, SAP budget uploads, and WBS structure. * Manage the alignment of the regional Project Controls Team, and supporting vendors, to the tools, processes and procedures used by the Global Project Services Team. * Coordinate with Global Document Control Lead regarding document control project setup, vendor access, and project tracking. * As directed by the Project Services Manager support with or manage the following: * Global process improvements and implementation * Recruitment of new project controllers and schedulers * Lead regional trainings and presentations Qualifications Needed: To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: * Commitment to the safety of yourself and your team * A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, accounting or a related field is desirable. * Five or more years of experience in project controls * Experience with managing project control deliverables for a portfolio of projects * Robust understanding of project management and controls concepts * Knowledge or experience in scheduling and progress management * Experience with earned value management, forecasting and accruals * Management experience and ability to work independently as a self-starter * Excellent communication and collaboration skills to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders * Applied knowledge in change management * Proficient in SAP, Excel and Power BI * If you are applying for the role based in Montreal, Quebec, fluency in French and English, both written and spoken.
