Hexagon Agility Manufacturing Process Engineer - FleetCare in SALISBURY, North Carolina

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Process Engineer must be an experienced Lean Practitioner. The ideal candidate would be a self-starting, hands on manufacturing process engineer who will provide process leadership and support of overall site objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads site Lean improvement efforts in support of corporate and site Lean initiatives (facilitates kaizen events).

  • Identifies and implements continuous improvement opportunities for increased overall equipment effectiveness.

  • Documents and analyzes work processes to improve process flow and process control.

  • Develops process documentation including Process Flow and VSM’s, Operator instructions, standardized work, and preventive maintenance recommendations.

  • Recommend, support and/or implement improvements, modifications, or additions that will improve work process ergonomic, safety related risks, cycle time reductions and cost.

  • Works independently and with others to identify, implement and track cost savings ideas.

  • Troubleshoots manufacturing problems and related tooling, equipment or process issues.

  • Develops new tooling and/or gauging to meet customer requirements or resolve customer complaints.

  • Review chassis layouts and identify impacts prior to installation.

  • New equipment specification, selection, installation, and validation.

  • Prepares justification concerning requests for capital expenditures.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • CNC Machinery and Fabrication Equipment (Preferred).

  • Assembly Line product implementation and workflow (Preferred).

  • Lean principles and tools.

  • Excellent computer skills including high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • 3D CAD modeling and PDM software experience is an asset.

  • Experience with an ERP system is an asset (experience with IFS desired).

  • Ability to lead and work with diverse teams.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Communicate complex information to all levels of employees and customers both verbally and written.

  • Assess workload and develop priorities in a fast-growing organization.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Credentials and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or similar technical degree and a minimum of two years of directly relevant working experience.
